Shipping: Manage Your Delivery Partners

The Shipping section lets you manage the vendors and services responsible for getting your products to customers. Set up delivery partners, configure pricing, assign delivery personnel, and keep your fulfillment operations running smoothly.

What Is a Shipping Vendor?

A shipping vendor is a delivery company or service that handles order fulfillment for your store. Each vendor has its own pricing, delivery time estimates, contact information, and team of delivery personnel.

Accessing Shipping

  1. Open your Workspace
  2. Go to Shop in the sidebar
  3. Click Shipping

Setting Up a Shipping Vendor

Vendor Details

  • Logo — Upload the vendor's logo for easy identification
  • Name — The vendor's business name
  • Phone — Contact phone number
  • Address — Business address
  • Contact Person — Primary point of contact
  • Delivery Estimation — Expected delivery timeframe (e.g., "1-3 business days")
  • Price — Base delivery price
  • Activated — Toggle whether this vendor is available for orders

Managing Delivery Personnel

Each shipping vendor can have assigned delivery boys (personnel). From the vendor's detail page:

  1. Go to the Delivery Boys section
  2. Add personnel with their contact information
  3. Assign deliveries to specific personnel as needed

Managing Pricing

Shipping vendors can have multiple price points based on location, weight, or other factors:

  1. Go to the Prices section on the vendor's detail page
  2. Add pricing rules for different scenarios
  3. Update prices as rates change

Best Practices

  • Keep vendor info current — Update phone numbers, addresses, and contact persons when they change
  • Set realistic delivery estimates — Under-promise and over-deliver to keep customers happy
  • Maintain multiple vendors — Having backup delivery partners ensures you're never stuck when one vendor is unavailable
  • Review pricing regularly — Delivery rates change. Keep your vendor pricing up to date to avoid undercharging or overcharging.

Shipping Cost Calculation

  • Flat rate from config COMMERCE_DEFAULT_SHIPPING (default: ₦0)
  • Weight surcharge: ₦100 per kg over 10kg total weight
  • Returns ₦0 if shipping is disabled via COMMERCE_SHIPPING_ENABLED

Delivery Estimates

Location-based delivery estimates:

  • Lagos: 1 business day
  • Oyo, Ogun: 2 business days
  • All other states: 5 business days
