Local WhatsApp templates
The codebase retains a local WhatsApp template resource for reusable content. It contains a name, category, content, message type, and components. The resource is hidden from standard navigation.
A local template record is separate from a template submitted to and approved by Meta. Creating one does not establish approval or make it eligible for the current broadcast template selector.
Current outbound template workflow
Use Marketing → WhatsApp Templates to create, submit, synchronize, and select WABA-owned templates. Follow Template Builder and WhatsApp Marketing Templates.
In a workflow, choose the template offered by that editor and supply the required variables. Test with the intended WhatsApp sender and inspect delivery status.
Existing custom integrations that use local template records should continue to follow their own payload contract. Do not substitute a local record ID for a Meta template name or approved marketing-template ID.
