WordPress Plugin Setup

Easily integrate the Nviti Chat Widget into your WordPress website using our dedicated plugin. This guide covers the installation and configuration process.

Prerequisites

  • A WordPress website (Version 5.0 or higher recommended).
  • An active Nviti account.
  • A configured Chat Widget in your Nviti dashboard.

Installation

  1. Download the Plugin:

  2. Upload to WordPress:

    • Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
    • Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
    • Click Upload Plugin at the top of the screen.
    • Choose the nviti-chat-widget.zip file you downloaded.
    • Click Install Now.
  3. Activate:

    • Once installed, click Activate Plugin.

Configuration

After activation, you need to connect the plugin to your specific Nviti Chat Widget using your unique Widget Key.

Step 1: Get Your Widget Key

  1. Log in to your Nviti Dashboard.
  2. Go to the Chat Widgets section.
  3. Click on the Embed Code button (or icon) for the widget you want to use.
  4. Locate the Widget Key field (usually below the main script code).
  5. Click the Copy button to copy the key to your clipboard (e.g., widget_b30e056f2640a997382cd0c0e3fe3180).

Step 2: Enter Key in WordPress

  1. In your WordPress Dashboard, go to Settings > Nviti Chat Widget.
  2. You will see the Nviti Chat Widget Configuration screen.
  3. Paste your copied key into the Widget Key field.
  4. Click Save Settings.

Verification

Visit your website's homepage or any other page. The Nviti Chat Widget should now appear in the corner of the screen (defaulting to bottom-right), ready to assist your visitors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use multiple widgets? Currently, the plugin supports one widget per WordPress installation. To use different widgets on different pages, you would need to manually embed the script code in your theme's templates or use a custom code plugin.

Where is the settings page? If you don't see "Nviti Chat Widget" under the main menu, check under Settings > Nviti Chat Widget.
