Sales Overview summarizes permitted pipeline and follow-up records in the selected company. Open a metric's records to inspect its sources and, with export permission, use Export current view. Counts and values reflect your record scope; they are not a tenant-wide total when your role has narrower access. See CRM access and capacity.
Run and interpret a report
Sales Analytics > Run report accepts a pipeline, currency and date range. Group current deals by stage, pipeline, owner, current status or currency. Select deal count, known value by currency and unknown amount count as needed. Saved report settings take precedence over the choices below them; edit the saved definition to change those settings.
Grouped deals and the funnel cohort use deal creation dates. Won/lost performance uses actual close dates. The grouped status filter applies to current grouped deals; won/lost performance keeps its terminal cohort. Check the dates and the relevant source records before comparing sections of a report.
Values remain separated by currency. Unknown amounts are reported separately from zero. Reports can exclude records without the required evidence; inspect the displayed exclusions instead of treating them as a conversion. A report does not infer payment from a won deal or invoice state.
Forecast snapshots
In CRM > Forecasts, create a named snapshot with the applicable pipeline filters and reviewed manager adjustments. An adjustment needs an amount, currency and reason. Forecast categories include pipeline, best case, commit and omitted on the deal.
Forecast snapshots are immutable: create a new dated forecast to record a changed assessment. Compare forecasts compares the two saved snapshots and requires company-wide CRM visibility as well as feature access. A forecast is a saved estimate, not a payment or provider reconciliation receipt. Snapshots and saved reports use their configured report capacity.
Territory reporting
When authorized, Territory report recommends membership using the current rules, ordered by priority and then record ID; each permitted open deal is counted once. Reviewed recorded assignments are separate from recommendations and can flag changed deals or rules.
Use Review territory assignments, inspect the preview and then Apply reviewed assignments if the scope is still current. Changed deals or territory rules require a fresh review. Territory features, company-wide visibility, configuration and update permissions apply. Define rules in CRM Configuration; a reporting recommendation alone does not reassign a deal.
Reading context and limits
The customer profile and pipeline can show operational counts without enabling all advanced reports. Respect the visible report scope and separate currencies; do not add company-wide figures to owner-filtered totals. API exports and metric drill-downs retain the same authorized source scope. Advanced reporting and forecasts remain subject to the release profile, purchased feature and report capacity.
Save a reusable report
- Open the permitted Reports configuration screen and create a named definition.
- Select supported filters, grouping and columns. Current grouping choices are stage, pipeline, owner, status and currency; supported columns are deal count, known value and unknown amount count.
- Save the definition, then open Sales Analytics > Run report and choose it under Saved report.
- Check the selected definition before running: saved settings take precedence over ad hoc choices below them.
- Inspect grouped source records and currency buckets before sharing the result. Use Export grouped report with export permission for a fresh authorized calculation.
A grouped report is a current deal cohort, not a historical transition ledger. Its date filters use creation dates; funnel/closure sections have the definitions described above. Stage-aging and conversion results should be interpreted with their displayed evidence and exclusions, rather than inferred from the grouped totals alone.
For example, select a pipeline and creation-date range and group by owner to review the opportunities created in that period. This does not answer which older deals actually closed in that period; use the close-date performance section for that question.
Review forecast changes
Create a named forecast after reviewing deal categories and amounts. A manager adjustment is a separately explained amount/currency adjustment, not a silent edit to source deals. Keep the reason useful to a colleague reviewing the estimate later.
In Sales Analytics > Compare forecasts, choose the two authorized snapshots. Review the reported deal, amount, stage and category changes rather than subtracting unrelated totals or currencies. Comparison requires company-wide visibility and the applicable report/forecast authority. A snapshot retains its captured estimate; the current pipeline can change afterwards.
Limits, changed sources and access
The configured grouped-report runner accepts at most 10,000 current deals and 500 groups. Narrow the filters when a result exceeds those bounds. These execution bounds are separate from the subscription's finite saved-report/snapshot allowance, which is shared across tenant companies.
A source or permission change during calculation can reject the result. Refresh and rerun against current records; do not reuse a stale download to imply a current authorized report. Running or freshly exporting advanced reports still requires an enabled release scope even when an older definition is retained.
Reports and forecasts are native features. Zoho migration coverage does not currently import source report definitions or forecast snapshots. See Access and capacity for effective plan and retained-data behavior.
