Checkout Flow

The Checkout Flow gives customers a guided way to complete an order inside WhatsApp. It gathers delivery information, lets the customer review the order, and confirms what happens next.

Customer Experience

Depending on your shop setup, a customer can:

  1. Review all or selected items in their cart.
  2. Enter their name, phone number, and delivery address.
  3. Choose an available delivery or payment option.
  4. Review the items, delivery charge, and total.
  5. Confirm the order.
  6. Receive an order reference and, when required, a secure payment link.

Customers can also use the shop experience to browse products, manage their cart, view past orders, and track a current order.

Customize the Flow

Open Shop Settings to adjust the customer-facing parts of checkout, including:

  • Screen titles and guidance.
  • Delivery field labels.
  • Review and confirmation button text.
  • Payment selection wording.
  • Order success and next-step messages.

Keep labels short because WhatsApp limits space on buttons and form components. Use the body text for additional guidance.

Test Before Launch

Test with a real customer WhatsApp account and at least one active product:

  • Add a product with and without a variant.
  • Change the quantity and remove an item.
  • Check out only some cart items when partial checkout is relevant.
  • Confirm required delivery fields are clear.
  • Check totals and delivery charges.
  • Complete each enabled payment option.
  • Verify the confirmation and order-status messages.

Troubleshooting

Checkout does not open

  • Confirm order processing is enabled.
  • Make sure the connected WhatsApp account is active.
  • Check that at least one active, in-stock product is available.

A total or delivery option looks wrong

  • Review product price, selected variant, quantity, discount, and delivery settings.
  • Save any correction and start a new test checkout.
