Companies: Manage Business Entities
The Companies section lets authorized users manage businesses within their tenant. Each company has its own members and operational records. Select the intended company before changing its channels, assistants, knowledge, or shop settings.
What Is a Company?
This chapter shows the selected company and its members; use the guide below for the wider company settings.
A company represents a distinct business or brand within your workspace. If you're an agency managing multiple clients, or a business with several brands, each one gets its own company record. Membership and operational records are scoped to the company. Some services, including tenant branding and credit balances, are shared at tenant level; creating another company does not create a separate subscription or web identity.
Accessing Companies
- Open your Workspace
- Go to Workspace in the sidebar
- Click Companies
Company Details
Each company record includes:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The company's business name |
| Contact email address | |
| Phone | Contact phone number |
| Website | Company website URL |
| Description | Brief description of the business |
| # Users | Number of team members in this company |
| # Invites | Number of pending invitations |
Creating a Company
Company creation and management require the appropriate permissions. My Company opens your selected business; use Companies to create another one when your role allows it.
- Click Create at the top of the Companies page
- Fill in the company details (name is required)
- Click Save
Viewing a Company
Click on any company row to view its detail page, where you can:
- See the company description
- Manage Team Members — who has access to this company
- Manage Invites — pending and sent invitations
Subdomain, Branding and PWA Settings
Select the company in the workspace switcher first. Open Workspace → My Company → Subdomain & Branding. Company administrators can also use Companies → open the selected company → Subdomain & Branding, or the same shortcut on a chat widget's edit page.
This editor includes:
- Nviti subdomain and application name.
- Light, dark, or full-brand landing-page theme; theme colour and text colour.
- Subdomain logo, PWA icon and browser icon.
- Search title/description, social sharing title/description/image and search indexing.
- Company website link and the Publish subdomain switch.
- Custom domain and its read-only verification status.
Click Save changes to apply the settings. Normal company members cannot edit them. The profile is tenant-wide: companies and widgets sharing a tenant share this web identity. Widget-specific colours remain under Chat Widgets → Appearance; empty subdomain colour overrides inherit the primary active widget's colours.
Changing the subdomain changes public links; old links are not automatically redirected. Update your published links and QR codes afterwards. Disable Publish subdomain, rather than clearing its name, to hide the site. Browsers, installed PWAs and social networks may cache icons and link previews.
Custom domains still require DNS setup and verification by Nviti support. Entering a domain does not activate it; changing it resets its status to pending.
Where to manage the other widget features
| Feature | Workspace location |
|---|---|
| Visitor name/email/phone requirements, allowed websites, default assistant | Integrations → Chat Widgets → General |
| Widget colours, logo and launcher position | Integrations → Chat Widgets → Appearance |
| Welcome messages, quick actions, voice-note limit and audio preview | Integrations → Chat Widgets → Messages |
| Assistant name/avatar | Integrations → Chat Widgets → Assistant |
| Human-handoff labels and feedback | Integrations → Chat Widgets → Support & Feedback |
| Single-use WhatsApp-to-web links, destination widget and expiry | Custom Agent workflow → Link to Web Chat node |
| Widget/PWA marketing messages, buttons, audience and schedule | Marketing → Broadcasts → Chat Widget / PWA |
Browser notification permission is controlled by each visitor using the widget bell. Marketing consent is a separate visitor choice under Help → Receive updates and offers from this business; an administrator cannot grant either consent for them. Push credentials, queue operation and custom-domain verification remain infrastructure responsibilities, not ordinary company settings.
Switching Between Companies
Use the workspace switcher (usually in the top navigation) to move between companies. Each company has its own:
- Connected channels (WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.)
- AI assistants and workflows
- Knowledge base
- Contacts and visitors
- Orders and products
- Team members and permissions
Best Practices
- Name companies clearly — Use the actual business or brand name so it's easy to identify
- Keep descriptions updated — A brief description helps team members understand what each company does
- Manage access carefully — Only invite team members who need access to a specific company
- Use invites for onboarding — Send invitations rather than creating accounts manually so new members can set up their own credentials
